The Southeastern Association of the Iowa Conference United Church of Christ is hosting a clergy boundary training featuring Dr. Gary Chapman, presenter. This training session will review professional pastoral ethical statements and their basis in philosophical and Christian ethics, the language and definitions in use, and the issues in motivation and behavior that characterize the current crisis in churches. The outcome can be the construction of a personal statement of pastoral ethics.
Dr. Chapman has taught philosophy, professional ethics, contemporary issues, and world religions at Southeastern Community College since 1995. He retired in 2007 from full-time ministry in the UCC after forty years of pastoral service.
Anyone wishing to pre-register may do so by emailing Chad Savage at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost is $20. The training will break for an open lunch.
