What is Pilgrimage?
Pilgrimage is a series of three retreats for discovering and deepening our sensitivity to God’s presence in our lives sharing our journey with others, and strengthening our discipleship in the world:
- Retreat 1 helps you develop greater sensitivity to God’s presence. It introduces some basic spiritual disciplines to nurture your relationship to God.
- Retreat 2 provides you with additional tools, and introduces the discipline of solitude an 18-20 hour time of “silent with-ness.” It also explores the concept of vocation in relation to our discipleship.
- Retreat 3 reflects on God’s presence in the ordinary and offers experiences with the arts as spiritual disciplines.
God’s Spirit is moving among us powerfully and Pilgrimage offers a way for persons to heighten their sensitivity and responsiveness to God. Here is an opportunity for persons to pause in the midst of their busy lives to praise and glorify God. Here is a source for the renewal of our call and commitment to faithfulness and Christian vocation. The purposes of Pilgrimage are:
- to help us discover the presence of God in our lives,
- to develop disciplines that enhance and deepen our sensitivity to God’s presence,
- to encourage us to share our spiritual journey with others, and
- to renew and transform us spiritually for our discipleship in the world.
