BELVA DUNCAN AWARD 2008 |

At the 1999 Annual Meeting of the Iowa Conference, a new award was instituted in memory of the Rev. Dr. Belva Duncan, whose untimely death was preceded by a life of faith, service, compassion and work for justice. Subsequent awards were to be given to other ordained women who also exhibit these characteristics. The award is given biennally. The Women's Coordinating Committee is currently soliciting nominations from Iowa congregations for the Belva Duncan Award to be presented at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the Iowa Conference this June.
